Ben was born in the East Midlands city of Nottingham, joining the Royal Air Force at the age of 22 completing an apprenticeship as a propulsion technician before going on to join Rolls-Royce civil aerospace as a test engineer.
Following the completion of his technical apprenticeship, Ben was employed within an overhaul facility for the RB199 engine used in the Tornado, a role which would develop into an engine change team member. Within a short period of time Ben was offered a position within Rolls-Royce as a test engineer in the new engine assembly and overhaul facility in Derby from where he soon became a technical field service representative supporting various high profile customers including Emirates, Qantas, Singapore, Virgin Atlantic and many more at their main operating bases and supporting outstation operations.
In order to progress Ben studied for his UK CAA EASA B1 building up the knowledge and skills across the whole aircraft. Since holding the aircraft maintenance license, Ben has extended his capabilities to become a well rounded and driven technical liaison engineer comfortable in line, base and EOL technical representative roles.
